Ed was first introduced to The Sportsline when he was in high school, and really fit in with everyone right from the beginning.  Ed has a tremendous knowledge of sports, and a great desire to help out however he can, as well as to learn as much about everything as he possibly can.

Easy Ed is currently a Junior at Rhodes College in Tennessee, pursuing a career in sports journalism.  He works with The Sportsline whenever he is home in Lynchburg on any type of break from school. 

Known for his very laid back attitude and style of speaking, Easy Ed is a favorite of listeners to The Sportsline for being the resident "pot head", even though Ed vigorously denies ever inhaling.  The image most listeners have of Easy Ed upon hearing him speak, is of Jeff Spicoli, of the classic film "Fast Times at Ridgemont High".  Ed also conjures up plenty of thoughts about another of his favorite movies "Dazed and Confused".  The one question about Easy Ed that is most often asked is . . . "That's an act right?  That's not how he really is in real life, is it?"  But alas it is. 

One big reason to look forward to summer time each year on The Sportsline is the return of Easy Ed.  You never know exactly what is going to come out of his mouth next . . . but you can rest assured that it will leave you scratching your head, wondering exactly what the hell he is talking about.  Ed is also our resident expert on modern culture, offering up the latest fashion tips, translating the next generations vocabulary into something us older folks can understand and cluing us in on the latest lines and scams that are being used to hook up with the opposite sex.  Ed is such a wildman, that he once divulged a crazy night at the frat house in which the pledges were required to drink warm beer and watch "Finding Nemo".  Now that's hazing huh?
