Jake joined The Sportsline in the fall of 2004 and quickly became a star of sorts . . . as he was not shy about getting on the air and even revealing anything about himself. 

Jake's first nickname on the show was "Spiderman", after being bitten by a black widow spider while watching two chicks make out in the parking lot of CVCC.  That nickname quickly gave way to "The Shepherd" after Jake disclosed on the air that he had inserted his hand into a sheep's anus.  He still maintains to this very day, that the sodomy of the sheep was for its own good.  (Click here for promo).

"The Shepherd" also was not shy about making silly bets and frequently putting his foot in his mouth.  In the 2005 NFL Season, Jake bet that the Deadskins would make it to the Superbowl.  As a result of a beating in round 2 of the playoffs by the Seahawks, Jake had to have his arms and legs waxed.  (promo and pics).  Jake also made a foolish wager in the summer of 2006 when it came to NASCAR Fantasy, and was made to walk around Lynchburg dressed as a nurse (pics). 

Speaking of Nurses . . . in the Summer of 2006, Jake left The Sportsline much to the dismay of Rich, Larry and the listeners in order to pursue a career in nursing.  Here's hoping he doesn't have to ever give you a physical!
