Tim Burkholder is back on board with The Sportsline for his second
stint with the show . . . and Rich and Larry welcomed him back with
open arms. During his first go round with The Sportsline, Tim worked
with the past regime in which Rich was paired up with Bob Sturm.
It was at that time that Tim received the nickname . . . Mr. Ass. It
wasn’t a nickname that was designed to be sexy or perverted or by any
means gay . . . you see it all derived from a sticker Tim had on his
truck. Tim was driving a little white truck that had a bug guard
running all the way across the hood. On that bug shield was a sticker
that read “Bad Ass Boys Drive Bad Ass Toys”. One afternoon as Rich and
Bob were leaving the studios, they spotted the truck and the sticker.
The next day, Tim had his nickname … Mr. Ass. And few days after that …
the sticker was gone.
After leaving the show during his first go-round, Mr. Ass got
hitched. No little asses running around the Burkholder house as of yet
… although Tim does claim that he and Mrs. Ass are practicing
furiously.
During his hiatus from the show, Tim stayed in touch with the
show, as all former employees are encouraged to do, and when he heard
about the expansion of the show and the need for more help … Mr. Ass
was more than willing to come back aboard. This time however, Double R
and the Legend hope that when given an assignment in the future, Tim
will carry it out. Unlike the first go round, when Tim was sent to
Martinsville to cover a NASCAR race . . . yet he left the recording
device necessary to complete his mission . . . at home.
