| "Shady" Sean Book |
|
Sean was unfortunately (as described by him) born and raised in Appomattox, VA. There, he managed to avoid all things NASCAR and tobacco related. He joined the show in September of 2005, while attending Liberty University and remained with The Sportsline for a year . . . leaving just before the syndication event took place (timing is everything huh?).
Shady was different from most interns on The Sportsline in that he never had any real desire to be on the air, as it seems he just wanted to be in the presence of Rich and Larry. As a matter of fact, Sean rarely got any air time at all . . . and that was just fine with him. Sean witness firsthand some of the indignities and humiliations suffered by the Shepherd and figured it best to keep his distance from the microphones. Shady's greatest contribution to The Sportsline on the air . . . is being on hand to record, in person, an audio clip which will undoubtedly be used for as long as The Sportsline continues to broadcast: Ralph Sampson's feeble attempt at a dunk before crashing to the floor of University Hall during the ceremony celebrating the closing of the venue (click here for audio). Whenever Larry is in a bad mood . . . like after the Red Sox get swept in a five game series by the Yankees . . . just hearing this clip can lift The Legend's spirits. Sean also was a huge help to the show behind the scenes, as his computer skills and organization kept a level of sanity around the office before and after each show. The Shady One departed The Sportsline in August of 2006 for the greener pastures of The Carolina Panthers. It is unknown exactly what his responsibilities down in Charlotte are . . . however the popular rumor circulating is that he is the official towel boy of The Topcats . . . and must accompany all cheerleaders to away games and intervene whenever any lewd or lascivious behavior might occur in the bathroom of a nightclub.
