"The All State Waterboy" Bobby Alvis
Bob Alvis was the first intern to join the team once Rich and Larry took over the show back in 1998.  Alvis had been an avid listener to the show for years ... but decided that the time was right to jump on board and help out R&R while dipping his toe into the waters of Sports Talk Radio.

Double R and the Legend found out early on that Alvis' athletic "claim to fame" was being the team Manager for the Jefferson Forest High School Football Team.  Alvis actually claimed at one point to be an "All State" Manager and said that he could have received a scholarship to college as a team manager.  This revelation earned Alvis the nickname "All State Waterboy" on The Sportsline, replacing the "Big Sexy" nickname that he had given himself.  It's funny how those sel-appointed nicknames never seem to stick very long ... isn't it?

Alvis will forever be remembered by listeners of The Sportsline for nabbing the final interview Barry Sanders ever did as a member of the Detroit Lions.  Just prior to his shocking retirement, Sanders was up in Charlottesville for a Charity event and Bob was there to greet him.  He put Sanders on the show with Double R and the Legend for what turned out to be his final interview before announcing his retirement a few days later.  The interview was quoted and mentioned in a number of publications around the country including the USA Today and New York Newsday.

Bob is a videofile ... who collected thousands of tapes in his archives of all kinds of different sporting events and wrestling matches.  Alvis even one year ... collected the videotapes of every single Yankees game.  "The All State Waterboy" also had a tremendous passion and knowledge for sports trivia.  He was the one that Rich and Larry always relied on for various trivia contests including Sportscaster Trivia and the annual Summer Trivia Tournament.

Bob left the show after several years when his schedule just became too hectic.  Bob is still a good friend of the show, and even helps out occasionaly when R&R need some help with a trivia contest.  Alvis is pursuing a career in sports and currently working at WKDE-AM in Alta Vista ... and is also doing a radio podcast called "The Sports Buffet".

Alvis is now married to his wife Suzanne and they have one daughter, Anna Elizabeth.
