Today on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... It's Great to be a
Florida Gator ... as the Gators beatdown Ohio State and claimed their
second consecutive National Championship. And along with crowning
a national champ ... The Sportsline also is able to crown a
Bracketmania Champ and name a winner for the Get-a-way to Kiawah Island
Resort. His name is Cameron Scoville and he blew away the field
by over half a dozen points.
Up next on the show, with the final
season of the Sopranos kicking off Sunday evening on HBO, Joe
Gannascoli joined R&R on today's show. Joe, of course, played
the role of 'Gay Vito' who got whacked last season. Joe talked
about his idea to make his character gay and how it got him some extra
attention and spotlight during last season. He also talked about
how he has had some run ins with some real Mafia types in his hometown
of NY over the character. Larry pointed out that once the
character was found out to be gay ... there was no way to avoid him
getting whacked. A&E is rerunning the Sopranos ... but as
Rich and the Comrade said ... its not a true representation of the show
without the language and nudity.
Justin Ditmore, writer for
Virginia Sports Report, was next up on the show and he talked about
spring practice for the Hokies over in Blacksburg. Ditmore spent
a lot of time talking about the Quarterback position, which looks like
its solidly in the hand s of Sean Glennon once again. Ditmore
said that Ike Whitaker needs to be more reliable and trustworthy before
he can be considered for the starting job and that while an intriguing
possibility, true freshman Tyrod Taylor will more than likely not be
ready to go on opening day. After Ditmore ... R&R ran down
all of the official Bracketmania results which are posted on the
Bracketmania page here at sportslineradio.com.
Bobby Bowden was
up next on The Show as he made an appearance in Lynchburg over the
weekend at Thomas Road Baptist Church. Bobby talked about
speaking at churches everywhere each Sunday being his responsibility to
give back to the community. He also talked about the difficulty
having your family working for you and the pressure of building a
winning program and tradition.
Next R&R began their preview
of The Masters. Chad Sutton, director of golf for Poplar Grove
dropped by to share his insight ... which is all about Tiger
Woods. Poplar Grove will also be sponsoring the Masters coverage
on The Sportsline and the winner of the online Masters pool will win 4
free greens fee passes to PG.
