Today on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 74 days and counting ... and lots of different topics will be covered on the show, including more details on the tragedy in Blacksburg which R&R talk about at the top of the show. Phil Simms, the top NFL Analyst for CBS Sports joins Rich and Larry early in the show as well, and the former Superbowl winning QB for the Giants was in rare form. Simms was a lot of fun ... dropping a few cuss words, slamming the tuck rule, bashing Giant fans and even slipped in a quick update on his son Chris. Up next a couple of callers check in with the show, after R&R play a couple of the Comrade's Commercials. Darnell chooses to blast Tom Brady ... while Cleo tries to place an order for 'Rich Roth's Strip Club Classics'. Sportsline Historian Wesley Q. May pointed out that one year ago today ... The Legend was caught stealing money from his oldest daughter Sydney. He tried to justify it saying that she gave him the money ... but not even being 3 years old ... it was pretty obvious he was taking advantage of her. And he calls RR the despicable one. Chris Wallace, editor of CavsCorner.com stuck around on The Sportsline for a couple of segments with R&R to talk about the Virginia Cavaliers and analyzed their spring practice and game. Chris is big on the improvement of the UVA offensive line, which he thinks will make a huge difference this year ... but there is no doubt in his mind that the defense will carry the load for the Cavs. Wallace thinks this year's defense will be awfully good. He also told Larry that another sub 500 year will cost Groh his job. That got Rich and Larry looking hard at what seems to be a pretty easy schedule in 2007 for UVA, and the consensus seems to be that UVA would have a tough time losing more than it wins this year. Finally, the preview of spring football around the state continued with Mickey Matthews, the head coach for James Madison ... just a couple of years removed from a D I-AA national championship. Coach Matthews talked about the transition JMU is making with a new QB about to take over the football team, and how the offense will change and adapt to his style. Matthews points out that at that level, he needs to recruit the best players he can and adjust to them, as he doesn't just have his pick of the best players that will necessarily fit into his style of coaching.
