Today on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 82 days and counting ... but the big news of the day is the NFL's suspensions of Pacman Jones and Chris Henry ... along with the Imus controversy which seems to be picking up mometum in a negative way for the I-Man. R&R got into the obsurtity of the Pacman Jones situation, looking at the timeline of every miserable thing he did ... although Rich did jump to his defense for smacking the stripper who tried to scoop up all of his money too soon after Pacman 'made it rain' in a Vegas strip club. Tom Knott ... the great columnist for the Washington Times dropped by the show to touch on Imus and Pacman. It was another great appearance by Tom Knott who has an unbelievable sense of humor ... and he defended Imus claiming Free Speech is an ideal that either needs to be in play or not. It's not OK for Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and all of the rappers to be able to spew hatred and profanity while standing behind the Constitution ... and then for Imus to be thrown under the bus and not have the Constitution word in his favor. Good news ... The Comrade is officially not the father of Anna Nicole's baby. Justin Ditmore of Virginia Sports Report checked in with an update on what all is going on in spring practice for the Hokies. He expounded on the QB situation and well Sean Glennon is handling the spring workouts ... and also touched on some of the other players who are making names for themselves in the spring ... as well as how the offensive line is playing much more soundly. R&R talked a little bit about the 'Spring Festivus' up in Charlottesville and what events they could have to bring more fans to the Festivus, prior to catching up with former SF 49er and CBS color analyst Randy Cross. Cross was very pleased with the way in which NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell handled the whole situation with Pacman and Chris Henry and feels the players are happy about it too. These guys, along with a handful of others, are giving the rest of the players and the league a bad reputation and it needs to be stopped. Cross also said that Calvin Johnson is the best player in the upcoming NFL Draft ... although he will probably not go number 1. The show ended with the Comrade's plan for NFL sanctioned strip clubs to keep players out of trouble.
