Today on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 72 days and counting ... but Larry starts of talking about the big Red Sox Yankees series, and Rich can't help but point out that Larry is full of crap since he is no longer a baseball fan. In fact, the Legend has yet to watch a baseball game this year, including his beloved Red Sox ... plus no baseball guests so far this year and no fantasy baseball for Larry this year ... really make the picture complete. Sportsline Historian Wes checked in with a double dip today. He reminded us that this day last year, two things happened: First, the Comrade announced that he would rather kiss Wes than admit that George Bush is a good president ... and second ... that Greg Tomlin's wife Karin revealed that Greg "couldn't deliver the goods". OUCH! That's gotta hurt. Up next came the topic of Michael Vick's $10,000 donation to the families of the VT tragedy. It clearly is a very delicate situation as Vick is jumping out early and working with the United Way to try and make some sort of a difference ... but noone really seems all that impressed with the amount of the donation from Vick. Rich points out that Vick earns an average of 13 million bucks per year, not including his many endorsement dollars. So that 10 grand equals $40 for someone earning 50k per year or only an $80 donation for someone pulling in 100k per year. Not that impressive if you look at it that way. RR also reminds folks that when fined for flipping off the kid at a Falcons game earlier this year, Vick donated 10 grand to another charity ... making $10,000 look like his standard donation, which is a problem considering the enormity of the situation in Blacksburg and the fact that it is his alma mater. This topic turned into the poll question and had some folks calling to chime in on the topic. Wendy Venturini of the Speed Channel checked in as our Fantasy Friday guest this week. It was Wendy's second appearance on Fantasy Friday and she joined us live from Phoenix as the Cup boys are getting ready race out west. Wendy talked about how cool the Hot Pass is on Directv and that this week she will be working with Dale Jr. Stacy Compton, of ESPN also talked some racing with us once again this week. He touched on the COT and who he expects to be in the mix this weekend ... said Hendrick cars look great. Stacy also took a few seconds to bash Jerod for how he is handling the Turn One Center and Car Wash race team. Bluetooth had better get that team into the Chase. Finally, standings and starters in The Sportsline NASCAR Fantasy League, presented by ABC 13, WSET.
