Wednesday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... results from the play-in match for The Sportsline Cup are in ... plus Double R and the Legend talk a little Barry Bonds and Bud Selig as well. Wes checked in with a history moment and wished Larry's mom-in-law a happy birthday (sick bastard!) and reminded us all of a past era in which Sportsline Listener Appreciation Day's used to be held with no commercials during the entire show. Angelo Crowell, LB of the Buffalo Bills and previously of the Cavaliers joined R&R. Angelo talked about a new beginning and his excitement to be back after missing the end of last year with a leg injury. Angelo also talked about the rabid fans up in Buffalo saying that the Bills fans make playing there seem much more like a college environment. Rich and Larry also talk a bit about the website and the golf deals before catching up with Brandon and Scott to congratulate Brandon for winning the Play-in match and becoming one of Rich's Bitches. ESPN.com Golf Editor Jason Sobel dropped by for a preview of the PGA. Sobel picked Stewart Cink as his dark horse to win the tourney and said that Tiger will not win this major. UVA RB Coach Anthony Poindexter made his annual appearance on the show. The "One Voice Policy" implemented by coach Groh keeps R&R from talking with AP on a more regular basis. Larry asked AP which running back that he coached was his favorite ... so RR countered by asking Larry which of his kids was his favorite. AP said that every year he has big plans for the team, and does not get caught up coaching for wins or for his job ... he says he can't worry about that when trying to prepare the team. Chip Sullivan, head pro at Ashley Plantation in Roanoke also is the PGA Professional National Champion for Club Pros and is playing in the heat this week at the PGA in Southern Hills. Chip said that he loves the opportunity to compete against the top players in the world on occasion, but loves his life back in Roanoke. |
