Vick's Buddies Turn on Him, Daryl Ledbetter, Mike Massaro & The Eve of The Sportsline Cup
Tuesday, 14 August 2007

Tuesday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... after a quick intro R&R hook up once again with Daryl Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal Constitution for the latest developments on the Michael Vick case as all of his 'crew' have turned on him.  Talk of plea bargains, jail terms and what Roger Goodell and the NFL might do to Vick as well.  Wes checked in with a Sportsline History Moment and wished Double R a Happy Birthday.

Rich and Larry continued talking about Vick and Rich said that he kind of felt bad for Ookie.  After being 'king of the mountain' for so long ... to have his posse turn on him and leave him holding the bag and staring at prison time isn't the way things are supposed to go for superstars like Vick.

Mike Massaro of ESPN dropped by to talk some NASCAR.  Massaro said he has always been a big fan of the Chase, and that his job description is much different now that ESPN is broadcasting races again rather than just covering them.  Massaro speculated that if anyone currently in the top 12 does not make the Chase, Truex and Harvick are his two most likely candidates to fall out ... he also feels that Kyle Busch leaving Hendrick may be the best thing for him.

It's also the eve of the Sportsline Cup as action begins on Wednesday.  Rich and Larry break down the teams (for now) and talk with all of the contestants.
