Mark Richt and fallout from the Knicks-Nuggest brawl
Tuesday, 19 December 2006

On today's show, Rich and Larry kicked it all off ripping the Virginia Cavaliers as they took one on the chin in the opening round of the San Juan Shootout to mighty Appalachian State.  Rich pointed out that this Appy State team got drilled by 30 to both Clemson and VT earlier this year, and even dropped a game to lowly Wake Forest.  Is it a one time stumble for the Cavs, or a sign of bad things too come?

Also the show, Greg Logan of NY Newsday dropped by to talk a little NBA hoops concerning the Knicks and Nuggets big brawl.  Logan, as you might remember, was one of the 7 Knicks Insiders invited to the "press conference" last summer regarding Larry Brown's departure from the club.  Well this time Logan talked about the disaster that the Knicks have become, and how Isiah is not the short term or long term answer ... although he might wind up sticking around for the forseeable future.

Mark Richt, head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs also dropped by the show to preview his teams big bowl game against the Hokies.  Richt was quick to correct Larry when he called Tech's defense "pretty good" ... as the top dawg pointed out that VT has the number 1 ranked defense in all of football.  Richt also talked about the tough stretch his team faced in the middle of the season before bouncing back to beat Auburn and Georgia Tech and earn a berth in the Peach Bowl ... er ... Chick Fil-A Bowl.

Rich and Larry also got going on the naming of all these bowls and corporate sponsorship ... and how much it sucks.  Its tough to remember which bowl games are which anymore.
