The Recap of a Brutal Sunday in the NFL and for Pigskin Pick'em Finalists
Monday, 11 December 2006

Rich and Larry had lots of fun at the expense of each other . . . as both the Jets and the Patriots suffered bad defeats over the weekend, as did a number of the other so-called "elite" teams in the NFL.

Rich gave his theory on why he is a little down on the NFL right now:  "Its too similar to the NCAA tournament in which the only thing that matters is getting in.  And once you're in . . . the team that gets hot wins.  It totally devaules the regular season."  Larry disagreed, saying that despite that being the case last year with Pittsburgh, the regular season is still meaningful as you want to be one of the top 2 teams with a bye in week one of the playoffs.

R&R also previewed the final week of competition in The Sportsline's Pigskin Pick'em.  The best of the best competing for the grand prize ... a 3 day 2 night getaway for 4 to Wild Dunes Resort, and 3 of the 5 had a mere 5 correct games heading into the Monday Night Matchup.  Not too good for the best of the best . . . and it will more than likely cost them at $1000+ golf trip.
