The Song Parody Contest DVD, Florida or Michigan, and NC State's search
Tuesday, 05 December 2006

Today on The Sportsline, more talk and more calls on who should be playing in the National Championship game against Ohio State.  Rich and Larry restated their cases on the subjectivitiy of the selection process . . . which obviously makes it pretty tough to come up with a consesus pick.

Mark Schlabach of ESPN.com dropped by the show . . . and while the listeners were pretty evenly divided between Florida and Michigan . . . Schlabach clearly believed that Florida rightfully got the nod.  In addition to winning their conferenc and not already having their shot, Schlabach also believed that the Gators run through the SEC was significantly tougher than Michigan in the Big Ten.

Also on the show, Ken Tysiac of the Charlotte Observer talked some ACC football and some hoops as well.  NC State's coaching search was a big topic of conversation and it looks as though the wolfpack may have to settle for less than a bigtime coach again . . . after suffering the same fate after the departure of Herb Sendek.  Sendek was of course eventually replaced by Sydney Lowe, who Tysiac believes has done an admirable job in the early going . . . although he admits there is still a long way to go.  Tysiac also said that the hire of Butch Davis by Carolina . . . not only puts more pressure on State to deliver a big name coach that excites the fans . . . but also was a great move by Carolina to lock him up before all of these other openings became available.

Finally on the show, R&R talked about the Song Parody Contest and the DVD which is now available for sale.  More info on the DVD by clicking here
