Wednesday on The Sportsline Jim Corbett of the USA Today and Sports Weekly dropped by to talk some football. Lots of backhanded compliments toward Chad Pennington and the NY Jets were thrown around . . . but in the end Corbett picked the Jets to be one of the two Wild Card Teams in the NFL. Psycho Robert also checked into the show for the first time in a long time. Robert had more thoughts and expanded upon his great idea and revelation from a few years ago about bigtime college football needing a playoff. Incidentally . . . he still denies that any women are being held captive in his baseement. We also talked some more college football with Jerry Palm of collegeBCS.com. Jerry said that early March is still his busiest time of year . . . but lots of people want to know how Michigan got bumped from the national championship game. Many Wolverine fans are upset that Jim Tressel did not cast a vote in the coaches poll, and that Illinois coach Ron Zook voted the Gators number 2. Palm pointed out that neither of those had any impact on Michigan getting jobbed. Palm also said that the rematch and the lack of a conference championship certainly cost Michigan more than anything else.
