Bluetooth gets stood up by Ward Burton...Mark Berman on uneducated players and RR's trip to B'burg

Today on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 139 days and counting. Lots going on today including Tech's big win over UVA on Saturday ... but R&R start out talking about the grocery store.  It all started by Rich telling the story of how his wife went to the grocery store late on Sunday and it was packed ... presumably because of the bad weather set to arrive on Tuesday.  It quickly turned into Rich bashing Larry for going to the grocery store with his wife on a regular basis and enjoying it.  Larry then tried to turn the tables on Rich pointing out how RR and his wife don't even vacation together.  Rich then played the trump card ... exposing Larry for the sucker he believes Larry to be ... remembering back to the ACC Tournament Finals that the Legend skipped out on to go shopping with his wife at Target.  Richie called in and was incredulous that Larry is such a chump.

Sportsline Historian Wes checked in with a "This Day in Sportsline History" update ... announcing that on this day in 2003, Larry announced that his wife was pregnant with their first daughter.  Rich also previewed a story about the weekend that he would tell later that he felt would piss off 90 percent of the listeners.

Up next was Ward Burton ... at least it was supposed to be.  Ward blew us off and Bluetooth ... who was responsible for booking him on the show caught a lot of flack from R&R as well as some callers, for accepting the BS that Wards PR people were giving him.  Chalk this one up as a lesson learned for young Bluetooth.

Mark Berman, who covers the Hokies for the Roanoke Times, dropped by next to talk some Hokies.  Mark figures that with the wins over UNC and Dook and should the Hokies get to 9 conference wins, they will be in the NCAA tourney.  He also talked about the ups and downs of the team ... not to mention Coleman Collins.  Rich then asked him about Journalism 101 and quoting players.  RR noticed that JR Renyolds repeatedly used bad grammar in his post game comments and asked Berman if he ever tried to correct the players grammar in the paper.  He said that really isn't an option and even alluded to the fact that Seth Greenberg has asked him about that on an occasion or two.

Rich then told the story that is sure to have many folks a little ticked off.  Talked about his trip to Blacksburg for the game, and how he had to deal with lousy seats, 3 rows from the top of the building and how miserable it was with no press pass and no parking pass.  That ungrateful son of a bitch should have just been happy to be there ... but no ... the damn media is so spoiled.  Larry said once he saw his seats, he would not have even stayed for the game.  He then had the audacity to claim that he is not a spoiled media guy.

Finally, Double R had another opportunity to play the Brady Loob spot.  It was requested by Mr. Ass, as he had never heard it before .... and considering there is some bad weather ont he horizon, there is no telling when Mr. Ass will be back in the studio as he will probably spend the week driving his wife around town.
