Today on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 136 days and counting. Big show today as the Hokies complete the series sweep of North Carolina, pulling out an OT win in Chapel Hill 81-80. Rich declares the Hokies automatically in the NCAA Tourney ... while Larry says that barring a total collapse they should be in ... setting the scene later for Larry just refusing to give the Hokies credit flat out for the big win. It takes the Hokie Call to get some Hokies to come out of the woodwork and call in ... futher proving to RR that VT is a football school and even a monumental win like this can't get Hokie fans totally jacked up about hoops. Bill Roth, voice of the Hokies was up next to talk about what he called "the biggest win in the history of VT basketball". Bill talked about his pregame chat with Seth Greenberg where he pointed out to the coach that if VT could just keep it close against the Heels ... he thought they would have a great chance to win. Larry brought up what he thought were some coaching blunders by Greenberg ... putting the wrong people in situations down the stretch that may not have been in the best interest of the team, like at the free throw line. Double R told Larry to back off and just let the Hokies enjoy their win. Roth said he thinks that the Hokies, with senior leadership and great guard play can be a scary team come tourney time ... as is evident by sweeping Dook and Carolina for the season. Rich pointed out that youtube.com is now his favorite website. After missing the game last night, he caught all of the highlights on youtube.com in about 5 minutes. He claimed this is how he plans on watching all games from here on out. Bluetooth took over the board for hour number two ... trying to increase his role and responsibilities with the show. This was not the original plan, but Double R made the call after Bluetooth seemingly blew off the learing opportunity given to him by the Legend. R&R figured that since Bluetooth thought he knew how to do it ... they would give him the chance. Needless to say he was in over his head, screwing up things like turning mics on and off, and not having interviews cued up. Not quite as simple and mindless as he thought. Speaking of interviews, Larry McReynolds of FOX Sports dropped by the show for a few minutes to preview the upcoming Daytona 500 and Nextel Cup season. Talked quite a bit about the suspended crew cheifs ... said Dale Jr. might be asking for a little too much in 51% of DEI ... and also thought Tony Stewart might take the checkered flag in Sundays 500. Bluetooth continues to struggle running the board, and also lets R&R ... not to mention the audience ... down again as the interview he scheduled with Ricky Rudd fails to take place. Double R points out that young Bluetooth's developing track record is not looking so good. Finally, on the Valentine's Day edition of The Sportsline, Danny's girlfriend Doris dropped off a few Valentine's Day gifts for her sweetie. Not sure what Ol' Danny boy did to piss her off ... but one of the gifts was a fake cover of GQ with Danny's mug on the cover. Had some headlines about Tom Brady being Gay (good for Doris) and even a headline wondering why Danny preferred men. Doris also dropped off a sex dvd for RR for Valentine's Day ... sort of. Turns out it was a DVD on sexual harrassment in the workplace. Seems like Doris really has everyone figured out.
