Today on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 137 days and counting but plenty to do on this evening's show. Opened up the show talking about the weather, or lack thereof ... and the Comrade's absence due to some rain?!?!?! Rich and Larry started throwing jabs at one another, you know receding hairline vs. gray hair ... 5'2" vs 300 lbs ... and it really seemed to set the tone for what was bound to be a wild show. Larry revealed that Jen Sterger of SI.com will be making another appearance on Fantasy Friday shortly, after her recent trip to Wichita St to catch a hoops game. This led to several very funny Shocker jokes from Rich, which Bluetooth appreciated but the Legend did not. Also got an email from Dominic suggesting that Kerri Kasem would make a great FF guest. R&R talked a little about the news that Marty got canned in San Diego ... gonna make a nice little job for whoever gets to take over a 14-2 team huh? Wes checked in with "This Day in Sportsline History" ... remembering back a few years when Rick Steiner and Disco Inferno dropped by the show, drunk on their way to a local wrestling event. Up next was Ward Burton ... a day after Bluetooth promised he would be on the show ... but nevertheless Bluetooth came through. He even got Ward to apologize for missing last night's interview. Ward talked about being happy to be back in a car racing ... although he admitted that he and his team have their work cut out for them trying to qualify for the 500 this weekend. He joked around about the benefits of having won the 2002 Daytona 500 not helping him a whole hell of a lot this week. Also talked about his work with the environment in Virginia being a big part of who he is. Double R spent most of the commercial breaks tonite scavenging the web for future FF guests ... or at least that's how explained all the porn. Larry thought he might have been studying for "Stump the Sportsline" whcih would be featured again in hour 2 as R&R try to qualify a couple more listeners to participate in the Nascar Fantasy League. Had a number of great questions that tried ... and were able ... to stump R&R for a spot in the Fantasy League, including Elliot Sadlers owner (Everanham), Mark Martin's number (01), but the winner was the final contestant JW, who stumped R&R with the simple question: How many championships did Dale Earnhardt win? With two guesses (Rich guessed 6, Larry guessed 4) those two dumbasses couldn't get it right. It was 7. Congratulations JW. Dan Bonner of Raycom talked some college hoops with the guys prior to calling the GT-FSU game down in Tallahassee. Bonner talked about both UVa and VT legitimately being in the same class as the Tarheels, which of course RR disputed. Bonner also said that while a win in Chapel Hill was somewhat unlikely for the Hokies tonite ... he thought that they match up very well with the Heels and could give them another run for their $$$$. Bonner also said that Dook is a virtual lock for the NCAA tourney ... unless they finish up 6-10 or worse in the ACC. Rich again disagreed. Finally, the show ended with more kudos for JW and R&R trying to explain how they had no idea how many championships #3 had won. Rich patted himself on the back for making a closer guess than Larry ... and also nailed the year 1994 that Earnhardt won his last championship.
