Today on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 125 days to go ... but more importantly a big welcome to Harrisonburg, VA and the new affiliate of The Sportsline, ESPN 1360 WHBG. Larry doesn't waste any time showing the listeners in Harrisonburg who the perverted, dispicable one on the show is as he opens up with an off-color, vague sexual reference that noone gets but him. Nice job Legend ... way to let the cat out of the bag right off the bat. The Sportsline Historian, Wes, checked in with "This Day in Sportsline History" and flashed all the way back to 1998 when the question about Larry's Diploma from Liberty was first raised. The question, quite simply was "Does he actually have a degree?" And to this day Double R along with Sportsline listeners still wonder that very question despite Larry's claims to the contrary. The Legend divulges more of the "story" about how he claims to have obtained his diploma after his wife paid all of his parking tix at LU for his birthday present. R&R quickly jump into some ACC talk as Double R remains absolutely stunned that both UVa and Tech are tied at the top of the ACC with Carolina, and the two will showdown Thursday evening in Charlottesville. Larry is amazed that UVa has been able to do it without a 3rd consistent option ... but Rich points out that the fact that they have several guys with the ability to be that 3rd option and the Cavs are a little more dangerous if you don't know which one it will be. The Hokies have realized their dreams and the expectations of many after a disappointing year last year. A senior laden team with a great backcourt is making the strides people hoped to see last year, when so many off the court issues did in the team. A quick update on The Sportsline Nascar Fantasy League presented by ABC 13 WSET as there has been a little bit of a shakeup after week 2. The first half of hour number 2 featured Dave Glenn, Editor of The ACC Area Sports Journal talking some ACC hoops. First though ... Double R revealed to Dave that he was present in one of Rich's dreams recently. Larry the pervert immediately thought the worst! Dave confessed that he has the inability to remember his dreams ... which makes all of those nights with Jennifer Aniston doing nasty things to him ... in vein. Dave told R&R that while the league may not be as great as it has been in the past ... the same can be said of college hoops in general. With younger players having such prominent roles on top teams, it makes it more difficult to be consistently good from the beginning of the season. The final half hour began with a little Nascar talk but quickly turned into David Lee Roth, Van Halen and Rock Star. Rich had the Comrade going that VH was going to be the next band featured on the CBS hit show RockStar. Apparently DLR is back with VH and the band will be touring in the summer, with Eddie's kid Wolfgang (are kidding me ... Wolfgang???) playing bass. What the hell happened to one of the great rock bands of all time? |
