The Final Week ... Wednesday

Wednesday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... the countdown continues as there are 3 shows remaining in Sportsline History.  Tonite, R&R will catch up with more of the folks who have been such a big part of the show over the course of the past decade including author and columnist John Feinstein, Jeff White of the Richmond Times, CBS Sports' Ian Eagle and Gary Hess of the Virginia News Network and Dave Glenn. Segment 1 Rich and Larry start by reading an e-mail from Wahoo Mark. Wahoo Mark who needs to check his sources, said that he heard that the show was being cancelled. Interesting that Wahoo Mark found the new e-mail address for the show but he said that he hadn't listened in years though. Not only does Wahoo Mark not have good sources but a good buddy of the show Mark Berman (Roanoke Times) said in his article on the show www.roanoke.com that Rich and Larry had no plans after this week although Rich told Mark that Larry was going full time with real estate!!

Segment 2 John Feinstein one of the top author's in sports and with the Washington Times drops by the show for the last time. John talks about his new book that is coming out and he talked to Tom Glavine the day after the report and he said that he was stunned on the names not in the report. John who is famous for his book on Bob Knight said that there will be a huge uproar out of Indiana to bring back Bob Knight. 

Segment 3 Dave Glenn of the ACC Sports Journal drops by and says after being the editor for the last 10 years he really has enjoyed coming on the show. Half of the time he has been on the show his family asks him what the heck has he been doing after being on the Sportsline. Dave reveals that Rich and Larry are in his Hall of Fame.

Segment 4 Jeff White of the Richmond Times Dispatch says that he won the bet between who would last longer Coach Al Groh or Rich and Larry. Also Jeff says that Coach Pete Gillen is still living the high life up in C-Ville. Jeff says that the has always been fun because Rich and Larry also have fun with it. Jeff answers the poll question for us and he thinks that he will finally be reunited with Coach Gillen and become his caddy.

Segment 5  Ian Eagle of CBS Sports feels like he is on Johnny Carson's last show. Ian's will miss the guys and he loves the way that we have handled ourselves with class throughout the years. Ian who has been with the Nets for over 14 years and this past week has been the strangest week.  Jason Kidd no longer wanted to be with the team but he was the saving grace. Rich wants to know if he lost touch with himself because he rooted for the Giants in the Super Bowl and Ian agrees that he is still a true fan because he rooted for the Giants as well.  Ian also thinks that Rich should become a jockey.

Segment 6 Rich reveals to us that he is considering cooking dinner next week, since he always comes homes

Segment 7 Dan Grogan of Grogan Sports, now even though it's not football season Rich still has a question. How do you get someone out of your league when you really don't want them in the league next year. Dan got a very interesting trade from someone in his league and he was offered Tiki Barber for Brandon Marshall. Dan really has enjoyed being on the show for the last 3 years talking fantasy football.

Segment 8 Gary Hess of the Virginia News Network drops by and says how much he loved being on the show and really enjoyed being apart of Sportscaster Trivia. He thinks that he should be Pete Gillen's caddy and that he could make him feel good because he is shorter than him.
