Today on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 151 days and counting. This show kicked off with a preview of Tech and NC State and got Rich and Larry back into the debate over whether or not State should have let Herb Sendek go last year ... which of course is the whole Marty Schottenheimer debate all over again. Larry says that Sydney Lowe is not the guy for the Wolfpack, and that State fans should accept being "second class citizens" in the Triangle and will never be able to hang with Carolina and Dook. Rich of course couldn't disagree more. You can never settle for second best he feels ... always strive for more. Wolfpack Mark called to remind Larry that NC State has been at the top of the college hoops world ... and strives to return there again. Up next, Dave Leitao head coach of the Cavaliers dropped by the show to preview a huge game against Dook on Thursday. Leitao talked a little bit about the trip to Puerto Rico and the effect it had on the team from top to bottom. R&R took some time to do a little house cleaning, and announced that Seth Greenberg should be joining them next week on the show. They read an email from Hokie Charlie, who tunes into the show on the internet each day ... and also replayed the new commercial for Michael Vick's Bongwater. Dan Beyer was up next, checking in from Miami and Superbowl central. Not a whole lot of interesting stuff with these two teams ... as they have been very well coached in how to handle the media. Ines Sainz, the former Miss Spain, and now a reporter for a Mexican TV station was all the talk of media day ... prancing around the stadium in next to nothing ... drawing the attention of the players and media alike. Double R and the Legend put Bluetooth and Danny Boy on the task of tracking down her phone number. That task was made a little more difficult as a result of Danny and Bluetooth not really grasping the concept of using the phone. TC Cochran checked in on the Alltel Superbowl Hotline with former Virginia Cavalier Terrence Wilkins. Wilkins talked about his pro career and how fortunate he feels to not only be back playing and contributing in the NFL, but on a Superbowl team as well. |
