Oliver Purnell after the screw job at Dook, The Real Lilian Garcia, Bill Clement & Laney is Born
Friday, 26 January 2007

Today on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... only 156 days until the Gay-dy bashing can resume ... although with Larry's absence from the show Rich figured he could have free reign ... although the Comrade stepped in and said he would rat Double R out when Larry gets back from his hiatus.

Larry by the way ... took the day off to be with his expanding family ... as his wife gave birth to their second little girl earlier this morning.  Welcome to the world Laney Richmond.

All listeners of The Sportsline also found out today that the Comrade has a tough time distinguishing between the numbers 1 and 2.  Greg filled in running the board while Larry was out, and had the damnedest time figuring out which microphone was mic 1 and which was mic 2.  Eventually he got it though.  His folks must be very proud of that degree from Swarthmore they paid for huh?  Wes also checked in with a "This day in Sportsline History" update.

Up next was the head coach of the Clemson Tigers, Oliver Purnell.  Purnell talked about the tough loss suffered the previous night up in Durham, after his Tigers tied the game with only seconds remaining.  When asked about the issue with the clock, which gave Dook a few extra seconds to score the game winning basket, Purnell noted that he believed an error with the timing did occur, but he refused to go down the road with Rich, which ends with Dook always getting those breaks.  Purnell talked about experience being the key to winning games on the road ... and talked about different strategies for defending teams like Virginia, where one or two guys will typically beat you.

Fantasy Friday today, feature the listeners choice ... the real Lilian Garcia.  WWE Diva Lilian Garcia joined Rich and Larry (as the interview was taped earlier in the week) to talk about a variety of things including the imposter Lillian Garcia ... better known to listeners of The Sportsline as Luscious Lil.  Garcia told R&R how she got involved with the WWE in the first place, said that Mr. McMahon is not the A--Hole he portrays on TV and also said that she has no plans to be the next Diva to pose for Playboy.  Not her thing she said ... would rather leave something to the imagination.

The Comrade feels like the two Lillian Garcia's should fight over who gets to use the name.  Rich was all for a good cat fight ... until Greg talked about guys fighting for names too.  At this point, Danny makes a veiled comment questioning The Comrade's sexuality.

Bill Clement was the next guest to join Double R and talked some Hockey.  Clement is NBC's Hockey Analyst and said that he feels that Sydney Crosby and Ovechkin are the real deal's when it comes to the next superstars charged with saving the NHL ... and he thinks they are up to the task.

Rich ran wild in the waning moments of the show ... even playing the Tom Brady song which has been viewed by a half a million people on youtube.com.  Rich also picked Clemson to knock off UVA and Tech to beat GTech.
