Pillow Fighting (and biting), Bob Trumpy, Bill Roth and Playoff predictions
Friday, 12 January 2007

Today on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry, 170 days left, before Rich pays off his bet and can openly question Tom Gay-dy's sexuality again without paying for it in the "Tom Brady is Gay" jar.

Bill Roth, voice of the VT Hokies dropped by the show to preview Saturday's game with UNC at the Cassell.  Roth told R&R about the great backcourt play of VT, but how Greenberg felt the need to bench Gordon, Dowdell and Collins for the beginning of the Richmond game to send a message to the seniors.  Message delivered as the Hokies beat Dook in Durham.  Roth said that a win on Saturday against UNC would all but guarantee a trip to the NCAA's for VT, but believes that what happens from here on out will make all the difference.

Former Pro-Bowl TE, Bob Trumpy joined R&R prior to his calling the SD-Pats game on Sunday.  Trumpy talked about the tough road his old buddy Marty Schottenheimer has had in the playoffs, but wouldn't predict a great turn around this year.  Trumpy also talked about Antonio Gates being the TE that most mirrored himself back in the day ... as he is currently asked to do many of the same things Trumpy did as a receiver and moving around in different formations.

Five minutes prior to each Friday's 'Tom Brady "Happy" Hour', RR accidentally slipped and called Tom Brady a 'pillow biter' when he meant to preview the Fantasy Friday guest, who is a PILLOW FIGHTER.  He had to pay the jar a dollar, and didn't even get the 2 for 1 "Happy" Hour discount.

Fantasy Friday featured Vic Payback of the Pillow Fight League.  Vic explained how she was drunk and rowdy in a bar one evening, got introduced to the referree for the PFL and got herself a tryout.  The rest is history.  One thing Vic did point out is that the PFL is not all about T&A, and that there is some legit pillow fighting going on ... for whatever that's worth.  It's not Delta girls rolling around in bra and panties at the sorority house ... much to Rich's chagrin.

Finally, R&R got to predictions for the divisional playoff weekend.   Rich and Larry went head to head on most of the games, not really agreeing on much at all.  Rich took the Colts in game one, Larry went against Peyton Manning and took the Ravens.  Rich took the Saints in game 2, expecting a fairly easy win.  Larry wanted to pick the Saints, but honorably stuck with his preseason Superbowl pick of Philly.  Rich took the Bears ... Larry went Seahawks.  And the only game they could agree with, on paper anyway ... both took the Chargers, although Larry is back to his old juvenile games of picking against the Patriots, hoping that it will bring them good luck or something rediculous.
