Today on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 163 ... The Countdown continues. It's the final show before Championship Weekend and that means Rich and Larry will make their official picks. Double R opens the show asking the Legend to try to be open and honest and stop playing his little game picking against the Patsies for just a couple of minutes. Of course he can't. Larry continues on with his shameless, sarcastic analysis saying "how can you pick against Peyton Manning in a big playoff game against the Patriots". He went on to point out all of the gaudy stats about Tom Gay-dy's and Bill Belichick's unbelievable success in the post season ... and then of course picked the Colts, with his toungue pressed firmly in his cheek. Former Bengals head coach and radio analyst for Westwood One, Sam Wyche dropped by the show. Wyche talked about the unbelievable atmosphere in the city of Indianapolis and compared it to his Superbowl days in Cincinnati. He agreed with everyone else that the pressure was squarely on the Colts, specifically Manning and Dungy and even said that despite everyone being relatively young and the team still having several good years left in them ... that a loss again to New England might emotionally and mentally cripple the Colts. All that said ... Wyche picked Indy to get over the hump and head to the Superbowl. Rich and Larry next broke down the two games and made their picks. Rich went with the Colts and the Saints, saying that its the end of the run for the Patsies and that he just had a feeling about the Saints and felt that their offense would be able to get some things done against the Bears defense, despite the fact that a dome team has never won a conference championship game on the road out doors. Larry picked the Bears, claiming that all the experts picked the Saints and that motivation alone would be enough to take the Bears, who by the way had the best record in the NFL and are playing the NFC title game at home in Chicago, onto the Superbowl. Larry also picked the Colts, so sarcastic it made everyone sick. A caller asked Larry to GUARANTEE an Indy win ... knowing that if Larry truly believed the Colts would win ... the guarantee would jinx it. Larry did ... he slapped down the GUARANTEE ... Colts win. Up next, Fantasy Friday, featuring S Factor guru Sheila Kelley. Sheila talked about how she realized while preparing for a role as a stripper in the movie "Dancing at the Blue Iguana", that stripping is wonderful exercise, and has built a whole business ... movement even ... in which women use the "ART" of stripping, pole dancing and lap dancing to get into better shape. Rich of course, was all about this ... though Sheila said that most women would only strip for their significant others once or twice a year ... to keep things interesting. This kind of disappointed RR, as he had visions of watching Trish "work out" 3-4 times per week. Finally, Hokie Gajan, former RB for the Saints and now color analyst for the Saints radio network joined R&R to preview the NFC title game. Hokie talked about the impact Sean Payton has had, and that the fatal flaw which brought down Jim Haslett was his loyalty to Aaron Brooks, despite Brooks repeated poor performances due to injury. Gajan thought that the Saints would win this game because of their balanced offense. He also described the feelings of Saints fans, and New Orleans residents, and what the Saints have meant to the city. Finally, Rich takes advantage of his 2 for 1 deal during happy hour, playing the Tom Brady song which has almost a half a million hits on youtube. Plus he reads an article in the Boston Herald talking about all the gay guys and how much they love Tom Gay-dy. |
