Stacy Compton, JR Renyolds, No Hokie Coverage and Vicks Bongwater Commercial Debut
Tuesday, 30 January 2007

Today on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 152 days left til the Gay-dy bashing resumes in full force.  Larry ... after referencing SportslineRadio.com questions how much took place on friday when he was out and whether or not the Comrade held Rich accountable for his comments.

The Sportsline Historian ... Wes ... checked in with a "This Day in Sportsline History" on Sean's first nickname "The Silent Assassian" which did not stick.  He also cleared up the question about when Comrade's sexuality was first questioned ... when he did not want to get a girls phone number and Wes commented about trying to sell him a cat when he was in the market for a dog.

Up next, the new lead studio analyst for ESPN's NASCAR coverage, Stacy Compton dropped by the show.  After sinking to the level of R&R and commenting on the pain associated with childbirth, Stacy talked about how he got involved with ESPN and how the whole audition process took place.  Stacy also talked about getting a little older and not being in as much demand as a driver, since it is a young man's game now ... and how this is an opportunity to get him into the next stage of his career.

Dan Beyer of Fox Sports Radio dropped by again today, with some more Superbowl coverage on the spectacle that is media day.  Rich pointed out that Media day has turned into covering the spectacle rather than the game ... and Dan said that the strangest thing he saw all day was the two loser friends from American Idol.

Double R and the Legend next got into the lack of coverage of VT hoops on the show.  The perception that R&R are UVa guys is inaccurate ... and the truth of the lack of coverage on the show stems from far fewer writers covering the Hokies, and much less access to the players and coaches in the program.  R&R also fired off a JR Renyolds trivia question, which John answered correctly and won a free 3 month subscription to CavsCorner.com.

JR Reynolds was next up on the show and talked about the big win down at Clemson.  It was a tough game for him logging 38 minutes in a tightly defensed game, but they were minutes he had to play as a result of Singletary's foul trouble.  JR also talked about the team really rallying after the disastrous trip to Puerto Rico and looked ahead to the upcoming battle with Dook on Thursday.

Finally on The Sportsline ... Rich and Larry debuted a commercial put together by the Comrade for Michael Vick's Bongwater.  Its quite a treat ... let me tell you.
