Segment 1: Jam packed show tonight: Lots of guests and little time for callers! Danner Evans and how The Sportsline has elevated the career of many local news women.
Segment 2: David Teel joins us from the Newport News Daily Press -- live in Miami for the Orange Bowl. Injury updates for Adam Hall, the Jet-Ski master.
Segment 3: Orange Bowl close to kick off, Rich and Larry discuss the long layoff between the end of the regular season and the bowls, particularly the BCS bowls. Which bowls are truly meaningful? Were the bowls more or less meaningful "back in the day"?
Segment 4: From ABC 13 WSET, Dennis Carter and Danner Evans. Dennis supports the Hokies, Danner supports KU. Lots of Rock Chock Jayhawks. Danner's long betrothal. Taunting back and forth, both make their case. Is there a wager on this?
Segment 5: Erick Smith calls from USA Today. WVU hiring interim coach is a feel good move, but he lacks experience. Are the Bowls nothing more than a feel-good experience for the players? The bowl games. At least the players usually care. Erick feels Missouri was probably more deserving, but if the Jayhawks play with a chip on their shoulder... who knows. Pro LSU crowd could be a factor in the Championship game.
Segment 6: Wes's Sportsline History Moment; Easy Ed attempts to do play-by-play.
Segment 7: Bob Davis, play by play guy for KU. Standing up for KU's schedule, presence in the bowl. Breaking down the matchup with VT.
Segment 8: Finally, Adam Kilgore from the Washington Post. Adam thinks that KU will be both overwhelmed and playing with a chip on their shoulder. Adam asks for occasional updates regarding Spiders/VT hoops game. Adam picks VT, but in a close and competitive game. KU's #2 scoring offense vs. VT's #2 scoring D should make for the most exciting of the BCS games.
