Segment 1: Our Friday show kicks off with the aftermath of the Hokies' loss to KU in last night's Orange Bowl. This is a worse loss than UVA's Gator bowl defeat. The ACC champ has lost 8 BCS bowl games in a row. Is this what the ACC had in mind when they screwed up their elite basketball conference?
Segment 2: Gary Hess, Sports Director of the Virginia News Network joins us. Tech's loss was the worst (worse than both the UVA Gator bowl loss, and their utter hoops catastrophe against Xavier. UVA had a good game plan, and probably would have won if Sewell hadn't gotten hurt. But Tech's loss was on a bigger stage, and their offense looked clueless. The running game was there, but VT didn't have the patience to stick with it.
Segment 3: More with Gary Hess. Mistakes in VT's game: VT's 4th down call. Their ill-advised onside kick call with plenty of time left in the game. Not running the ball to start the 2nd half. Anecdote about how Tech lost to UVA back in the Aaron Brooks era, when they stopped running the ball. Gary Hess wants a eight team playoff, AND has a logical way to make it work. But "it will never happen because it's too good of an idea". The future of ACC Football is very murky. Also, UVA's loss to Xavier was a total embarrassment -- Gary actually watched the game!
Segment 4: Pierson Prioleau interview, encore from Wednesday.
Segment 5: For Fantasy Friday, we chat with Heather Dinich from ESPN.com. According to Rich, she's a "chick that knows football". We talk college football with her.
Segment 6: Comrade comes in to interrupt some dead air. Rich doesn't know what Water Boarding is.
Segment 7: Former Hokie, current Tennessee Titan DB Vincent Fuller checks in. He's excited about his first opportunity to play post-season football. Getting more playing time, feels like he's been making the most of it out of the nickel spot. The San Diego match up.
Segment 8: FINALLY, we get around to making our playoff predictions. We like the Bucs, Steelers, etc.
