BJ Upton, Jason Cole and the Elijah Duke Story
Wednesday, 25 July 2007

Wednesday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... Larry started off by grilling Double R about his lack of knowledge of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.  Turns out Rich knew a little more than expected as the topic of Elijah Duke came up ... what a great young man!

4 years ago today ... The Sportsline Historian was banned for nearly a year for violating The Show's family values policy.  That event has only been brought up on the show since then by Larry.   R&R then jumped into PromoMania in the Bluefield Region pitting The Gay Professor against The Short Bus.  Could be an upset in the making.  The Drunk Intruder may be the first number 1 seed that is on the ropes taking on The Empty Stadium.

In hour 2, Double R and the Legend begin talking a little ACC Football as the media voted GT number 2 in the Coastal Division ... despite losing 4 year starter at QB Reggie Ball and All-American Calvin Johnson.  Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports dropped by the show next to talk some NFL.  Despite a feeble effort to talk about something other than Vick ... that was the main topic of conversation, as Cole reported that sources close to Vick claim that the troubled QB still has no idea how serious of a situation he is in right now.

TB Devil Rays rising star BJ Upton was up next on The Sportsline.  BJ talked about his battle with leg injury that kept him out of the lineup for nearly a month ... as well as his impressive week last week which earned him Player of the Week Honors in the American League.  Upton also said that it doesn't really matter to him where he plays on the field ... as he has bounced around a little bit ... as long as he is in the lineup, he's happy.

Larry also questioned whether the term "Spring Fling" was too uppity for a Hokie event ... and R&R snuck in final matchup in PromoMania ... The Hard Stuff vs. The Proposal II which looks like it might be another battle that comes right down to the wire.
