Dave Glenn on the Death of Skip Prosser and Frank Beamer Live in Forest
Thursday, 26 July 2007

Thursday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... the show opened with the sad news that Wake Forest hoops coach Skip Prosser passed away earlier in the day.  He collapsed after jogging and could not be revived.  Dave Glenn of the ACC Area Sports Journal joined R&R with some of the details and also shared some memories of coach Prosser.  Rich and Larry also run down some results from PromoMania including a scare of the number 1 seed in the Bedford Region, The Drunken Intruder.

Canteen Boy ... aka Danny ... accussed Rich and Larry of not being real men because they have no desire to go camping.  Who knew that the ability and desire to camp is the key to being a "real man".  Frank Beamer, HC of the Hokies dropped by the show next, as he was in Lynchburg to speak at the Lynchburg Hokie Club's Spring Fling.  Beamer did not have a whole lot to say about the Michael Vick situation ... wanting to wait to see how everything shakes out after the wheels of justice are finished turning.  Beamer also feels that Sean Glennon is ready to have a breakout year, and that the weapons that accompany him on offense should lead to much more production this season.

PromoMania got put on hold as Rich and Larry began quizzing Danny on the rules of golf.  He knew none of them, which R&R determined would be big trouble in his match against Blueberry and the Comrade during the Sportsline Cup.  Chad Sutton of Poplar Grove checked in and agreed that Danny has his work cut out for him ... as Greg and Jerod seem to be making some progress on the practice range.

Finally, its time for a couple more PromoMania matchups.  The Inarticulate One featuring a less than impressive speaking performance from Jevon Kearse will seemingly cruise past The Under Aged in a first round matchup.  The Personal Attack and The Dunking Booth could be interesting as another high seed may go down in round 1.
