Wednesday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... the guys are getting pumped for the kickoff of PromoMania and also talk about SI.com ranking Al Groh as the worst coach in college football. According to SI, Groh has done the least with the most ... and Double R reminds folks that he called it back in 2000 when UVA took Groh off the Jets hands. Beamer incidentally is ranked 6th. R&R also talk about the All-Star Game and the fact that one of the biggest stars in baseball never got into the game as his own manager decided not to play him. Albert Pujols is not happy with Tony LaRussa. Eli Gold, host of NASCAR Live on MRN and the voice of the Alabama Crimson Tide dropped by the show. Eli talked about making the transition to the south after growing up in NY and what it means to be the voice of Alabama football. He also touched on some of the issues in Nascar including what he called an overblown "situation" at Hendrick Motorsports. Sportsline Historian Wes also checked in with a History Moment flashing back to 2003 when the pink "We hope its a girl" shirt was debuted by High Peak Sportswear ... hoping Trish would come through with a girl. It was not meant to be as 6 months later Rich's first boy Ryan was born. David Teel of the Newport News Daily Press checked in ... and was wondering if he can get a nice glass of wine at Bojangles. Not likely ... maybe Thunderbird. Teel talked about the issues that Seth Greenberg is having at Tech, now that he has lost 2 big men ... and also apologized to Rich for being so disrespectful back in April ... after hearing his promo for PromoMania. Larry accused Double R of having an agenda in PromoMania which Rich denied ... pointing to the easy road for "The DHB". R&R wrapped up the show talking about Dan Patrick's announcement that he is leaving ESPN, Fantasy Standings and also had a quick Pacman Jones update. |
