PromoMania Begins ... Buster Olney and Tom Knott
Thursday, 12 July 2007

Thursday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... PromoMania will kickoff and all brackets must be in, in order to qualify for that Wintergreen get-a-way.  Danny ... back from Vacation ... gets ripped mercilessly ... and may have earned the nickname "Canteen Boy".  Sportsline Historian Wesley checks in with a History Moment ... flashing back 1 year when the first programmed ever recorded on Larry's brand new DVR was .... OPRAH!!!

ESPN's Buster Olney checked in to talk some baseball including the story he broke on the Yankees willing to negotiate in season with ARod ... even though his agent will have none of it.  He also touched on the massive contract Ichiro just signed with the Mariner's and previewed the second half of the season.  Olney also said that he thinks Torre will be out after this season.

PromoMania begins with the first matchups out of the Blackstone Region.  Darnell gets top billing as The Shout out mauls The Hotty Scotty in on-air voting ... but remember, voting continues off the air as well at sportslineradio.com.  In the second matchup ... The WVU rolls over Tale of the Tape.

Tom Knott of The Washington Times checked in next.  Tom talked a little NBA which is his favorite sport to cover.  Knott also explained why golf is not for him and gave his feelings on Barry Bonds chase for Hank Aaron.
