Tuesday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... the news broke just prior to showtime that Michael Vick has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges related to dogfighting. R&R kick off the show talking with Daryl Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal Constitution getting the lowdown on the charges and how it all happened. Ledbetter was getting ready to head up to Richmond for more coverage of the proceedings.
Double R and The Legend opened up the phones and talked to the listeners as well. Different folks had different takes on the situation ranging from one listener claiming that "Mike Vick loves dogs" to those folks who want him locked up without even having a trial.
Jim Corbet of the USA Today dopped by to talk about the impact that the indictment would have not only on Vick ... but the Falcons and the NFL as well. Corbet pointed out that its way to early to begin speculating about whether or not Vick will play this season ... and also stated that Vick has a long way to go to rival Pacman Jones when it comes to trouble with the law. Rich here wonders how anyone can lie to Suzy Kolber.
Canteen Boy read the entire 18 page indictment and broke it down here on the show ... including some of the hideous allegations of how Ookie (Vick) and his lackeys tortured and killed the dogs. Joe Stevens of Wild Dunes resort also dropped by the show to preview the upcoming British Open. Stevens went out on a limb and picked Justin Leonard to win the British at Carnoustie.
