Larry McReynolds, Tim Rosaforte, Chad Sutton & The Bet
Wednesday, 13 June 2007

Wednesday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... after briefly talking about a brutal game 3 in the NBA playoffs ... R&R were joined by Larry McReynolds of FOX Sports and The Speed Channel.  The big topic of conversation in the Nascar world clearly centers around Little E joining forces with Hendrick Racing.  Like everyone else ... McReynolds agrees that this is a great opportunity for Earnhardt to win races and contend for championships ... plus he believes that Dale Jr. will have no trouble at all getting along with his new teammates.

Wes checked in with This Day in Sportsline History and flashed back to a memorable day in 2002, when Larry broke his ankle swinging a golf club.  Wesley believed that marked the day of Larry's "Descent into Femininity".

R&R spent a lot of time trying to figure out the details of their US Open Bet ... but after much haggling and negotiation the terms of the bet were set.  Larry gets Phil (FIGJAM) Mickelson while Rich gets Tiger and Davis Love III.  Whoever has the guy with the best finish wins.

The Stakes are simple.  Should Rich lose, he must produce a picture of himself on the pommel horse and post it to the website.  It will be on the homepage for 1 week, and will remain linked in the website until Phil wins another Major Championship.  If Larry loses the bet, he must refer to Phil as FIGJAM until Phil wins another Major Championship.

Tim Rosaforte of Golf World Magazine will be covering the US Open for NBC Sports and he joined Double R and the Legend to preview the year's second major.  Tim said that Oakmont is setting up as the toughest course ever for a US Open, which is just how the members like it.  Rosaforte wondered if Phil should even be playing in the Open ... and picked somewhat of a sleeper in Jim Furyk to snag the win.

Chad Sutton, Director of Golf at Poplar Grove also dropped by the show.  He picked Tiger to win ... said that right now its impossible to pick against him.  Chad also announced that he, Faber Jamerson and Tracy Newman would all be working with one of three Sportsline staffers:  The Comrade, Bluetooth and Danny Boy ... and that 2 months from now when the Sportsline Cup is held on the final day at Poplar Grove, the three of them will square off for bragging rights.
