Patrick Kerney, Kellen Kulbacki and a Filly "Wins" the Belmont Stakes

Monday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... a lot to get to but it starts off with the staff's TV viewing habits ... which revealed that only Double R caught the series finale of The Sopranos on Sunday evening ... leading Rich to the conclusion that he works with a bunch of losers.  RR loved the Finale even though it left quite a few questions unanswered ... hopes there might be a movie to put a bow on it.  The world needs more Sopranos.

Patrick Kerney of the Seattle Seahawks dropped by the show in hour number 1.  R&R had been trying to track down Patrick for awhile ... and it finally worked out.  He talked about the different factors that went into making the decision to play for Seattle over other teams like Denver.  The ability to win a championship was at the top of Patrick's list.  Kerney also denied ever attending a dogfight.

R&R had a little fun with the Legend going to one of his wife's family functions ... without his wife.  Rich couldn't believe it.  If ever there was an opportunity to get out of one of your inlaws events ... it would be if your wife is out of town!  But the Legend just grinned and beared it!

Time to talk a little Belmont Stakes as Rags to Riches became the first filly to win the race in over a century and the first to ever win it at a mile and a half.  Running expert Danny Boy was brought in via the phone to asses an advantage given to the filly ... carrying 5 pounds less than the colts.  Over a mile and a half, Rich and Larry concluded that the extra 5 pounds would have caused Rags to Riches to run a fraction slower, and since she only won by a nose ... she in fact did not legitimately win the race.  Danny's expert testimony confirmed R&R's suspicions ... despite the futile protests of the Comrade.

Kellen Kulbacki, OF for JMU who was recently drafted in the first round by San Diego dropped by the show.  Kellen would not absolutely rule out going back to James Madison for his senior season, however he expects negotiations to work out with SD and his pro baseball career to begin within the next few weeks.

R&R wrapped up the show talking about the online US Open Pool ... and would save NASCAR Fantasy for Tuesday's show.
