Peter Schmuck, Coleman Collins & The Danica Patrick Announcement
Thursday, 21 June 2007

Thursday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 10 days and counting ... but today's show kicks off with the news that Joe Girardi turned down the offer to manage the Orioles.  Word is that Girardi is waiting for a better offer ... most likely the Yankees job when Joe Torre decides to call it quits.   Wes checked in with This Day in Sportsline History ... and after accusing Larry of name dropping Shelley Poe (who turned out to be the SID for WVU, NOT the ESPN reporter) ... Wes reported that on this day in 2005, The Sportsline had on its first soccer guest to talk World Cup.  Rich also reveals that Amanda Beard is getting bumped for  .... Danica Patrick this week on Fantasy Friday.

Peter Schmuck of the Baltimore Sun checked in on the O's situation.  He said that for right now the hiring of Andy McPhail gives him some hope for the organiztion ... but he wonders how long Peter Angelos can really keep his hands off.  Schmuck also said that he thinks any big name managers will pass on this job.

R&R give Bluetooth the assignment of trying to track down The Road Dog, who is up at the Shenandoah Valley Fair.  While he is at it ... Coleman Collins drops by the show as he prepares for the upcoming NBA Draft.  Collins talked about enjoying the experience of all the pre-draft stuff, including the opportunity to travel to new places.  He looks forward to the possibility of making a living playing hoops.

Rich and Larry begin to get into The Sportsline Cup as both Jerod and Danny continue the trash talk.  The Legend claimed that The Comrade has no sense of humor, and thus is a bad match for his teacher Chad.  Sportsline Nascar Fantasy League Standings as well.
