4th Annual 'Broadcast from the Bunker', Sean Singletary, Mike Burnup, David Teel & Jerry Ratcliffe
Thursday, 15 March 2007

The 4th Annual Broadcast from the Bunker ... once again presented by Triangle Ford Mercury featured a big preview of both the UVa and VT games to take place on Friday.  The Broadcast from the Bunker of course is where R&R get to spend the bulk of the day camped out in front of the big screen TV taking in all of the NCAA Tourney games in stunning HD ... and then doing the show from the aforementioned couch.  Bob Knight and Texas Tech make an early exit from the tournament and putting Double R in a bit of a whole early as he had the Red Raiders advancing to the Elite 8.

R&R also played an interview with Sean Singletary taped from the previous day back in the studio.  Sean talked about how UVa planned to bounce back from a very disappointing end to the regular season and ACC Tourney and previewed round 1 against Albany.

David Teel of the Newport News Daily Press dropped by to talk about the tourney and preview both Virginia and Tech's games Friday from Columbus Ohio.  Teel told the story about how Stephan Curry, Dell Curry's kid wanted to go to Tech but chose Davidson because they offered him PT as a freshman and he wound up going off for 30 as Davidson gave Maryland a run for their money.  Teel also liked both UVA and Tech to win on Friday and said that Tech's matchups give them a better chance to make the sweet 16.  David had Texas A&M winning the Championship in his bracket.

David Leatherwood checked in from Winston Salem with a recap of early afternoon action there as Georgetown and Boston College both advanced.  Plus Alex Dynan of WVCW checked in live from Buffalo with a preview of VCU vs. Dook.

Mike Burnup, color analyst for the VT radio network was up next to preview the Hokies first NCAA game in over a decade.  Said the team is focused and business-like ... but also is really enjoying the experience, which RR felt might be the perfect combination for a nice run for VT.  Burnup agreed with Teel in that the matchups set up pretty well for Tech, as long as they can maintain their patience and he said it would really help if Coleman Collins shows up.

Larry inexplicably picked Dook to go to the Sweet 16 ... and claims to be ashamed for doing so.  Alex Dynan checked back in with an update live from the Dook VCU game in which the Blue Devils were out to an early lead.  Dynan said not to worry though as VCU is a second half team.  RR called VCU the Commodores ... then admitted to drinking too much.  He sounded half serious.

Jerry Racliffe, sports editor of the Charlottesville Daily Progress was up next to preview the Hoos from Columbus.  Hootie said that it wasn't stupid to pick Albany over UVa ... but he really made a great case for UVa winning this game.  Said it could be a showcase game for the big guys ... but the key for the Cavs will be the health of JR Reynolds.

One more update live from Buffalo and the HSBC Arena (Which apparently stands for "Holy Sh*t Buffalo's Cold) according to Alex Dynan ... and VCU is making a game of it late in the first half.
