ACC Tourney Preview and Predictions & Joe Nemecheck
Wednesday, 07 March 2007

Today on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 116 days remaining until RR can resume the Tom Gay-dy bashing.  It's Double R's last day in the studio before he and Bluetooth head to Tampa, while Larry still claims to be 'taking one for the team' when the reality is he won't be heading to the ACC Tourney this year because his leash isn't long enough.  RR gets an email on a potential nightspot in Tampa that he should check out ... some place called Mons Venus ... ever heard of it?

Larry Weisman of the USA Today checked in to talk some football with all of the trades and free agent signings being made in the past few days.  Weisman said the Jets got a steal in aquiring Thomas Jones from the Bears and he will be a great fit in NY ... he also said that Patrick Kearney may have been over paid and is a good player but not a great one, and that this should be Michael Vick's last chance in Atlanta as he is not panning out and not picking up the offense.  Larry also wishes there was more of an off season in the NFL these days.

Mike checks in to talk a little NBA and Ron Artest.  Rich and Larry are about as surprised as everyone esle that Artest is in trouble again ... not at all.  This is what the Kings get ... and certainly will not get equal value if they try to deal him.

R&R previewed The Sportsline's coverage of March Madness ... and checked in with Ed Miller of the Virginian Pilot from live in Tampa on the eve of the 54th ACC Tourney.  Miller liked UNC's chances of getting to Saturday better than anyone ... while he figured UVA and Tech could both go one and done but said that Tech had a better chance of advancing further than UVA.

"Front Row" Joe Nemecheck dropped by the show prior to the race in Vegas.  He talked about adjusting to the changes that have been made in the track ... as well as the added pressure on him to make races now that his new team doesn't have any provisionals.

ACC predictions ... Rich takes NC State over Dook, and VT over UVA to get to the finals where they lose to UNC.  Larry has both UVa and Tech losing in the first round, and UNC beating Ga Tech in the Finals.
