Bracketmania, Dave Leitao, Will Brown and Erin Andrews talk brackets.
Monday, 12 March 2007

Today on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 111 days remaining.  R&R jump right in and talk about the brackets that were released on Sunday for the NCAA tourney.  RR points out that he was virtually shocked at Virginia receiving a 4 seed ... thinking they would be much lower like a 7 or 8.  The guys also started talking about Bracketmania ... and some of the rules and prizes associated with it.

Dave Leitao, the UVA head coach dropped by the show.  He talked about being extremely disappointed with the one and done in Tampa ... but said that this team is a resilient bunch and referenced the strong comeback after the disappointing trip to Puerto Rico.  Leitao said the NCAA tournament is all about matchups and hoping that the team you are playing is not set up to exploit all of your weaknesses.

R&R get into the brackets some more ... talking a little about notable omissions from the field (whats up Syracuse) as well as pointing out that they are trying to get Seth Greenberg on the show as well, but unfortunately he is not nearly as accessible or accomodating as is coach Leitao this year.

ESPN's Erin Andrews dropped by to talk some brackets with R&R.  Erin broke down some of the Big Ten teams which she has seen so much of this season ... and made her pick for the champs chanting "just like football" ... her Gators over the Buckeyes.

Will Brown, head coach of the Albany Great Danes was up next talking about his teams matchup with UVA.   Brown talked about Albany's great run as a 16 seed in 2006 against top seeded UConn, having a lead over the Huskies midway through the 2nd half, and talked about how his team is not very big up front but has solid guard play ... ala UVA.

Rich talked about not likely UVa's mindset heading into the tournament.  He said that he was disappointed in the long faces he saw in the VA lockerroom after the brutal loss to NC State.  He wanted the players to be mad ... and the only one who really appeared to be pissed off was Jason Cain.
