Today on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 110 days and counting, but plenty of March Madness and Bracketmania talk on today's show. R&R give more details on Bracketmania and talk about some of the past years contests, one of which Danny might have won had he bothered to follow the rules. Sportsline Historian Wes checked in with This Day in Sportsline History. Illinois Coach Bruce Weber dropped by the show to talk about their opening round matchup with the Hokies. He talked about how the Illini players have been banged up all year missing a total of 50 games between all players. Rich also asked if the Illini might implement the Hack a Hokie strategy to put VT on the line. Weber said probably not ... fearing that VT might implement the same strategy against the Big 10's poorest free throw shooting team. Caller Gary checked in to talk about the upcoming NCAA tournament ... plus Larry reveals that his wife has "cut Rich off" after the comments RR made down in Tampa referring to Larry's short leash preventing him from making the trip. He was talking about coffee ... being cut off from coffee ... VT guard Markus Sailes was next to drop by the show. He talked about how please the Hokies are with their season, acheiving their first NCAA tournament in what feels like ages ... despite losing a disappointing game to NCSU for the third time this season. R&R also joked with Sailes about the Hokies free throw woes ... and previewed the matchup with Illinois. NASCAR Fantasy League standings presented by ABC 13 WSET ... followed by Ian Eagle of CBS Sports. Ian's headed to Spokane ... which apparently he doesn't know much about except that travelling to Europe might be quicker for him. Ian explained why he no longer fills out brackets and talked about some of the more memorable matchups he has seen. Plus he broke down the games he will be calling ... feeling that Oregon and Texas are for real.
