Today on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 100 days even and counting ... but the Sweet 16 has begun and Butler is still on the board for the big sweet 16 contest. Hammertime calls in and nabs the Bulldogs as they are in action against the defending champs Florida. Rich proclaims that his autographed Natalie Gulbis calendar may be up for grabs as "Upper Management" here at the flagship station proclaimed it unsuitable for a business environment. It's just a freakin' Golf Calendar ... Whatever! Also, Sportsline Historian Wesley Q. May checked in with "This Day in Sportsline History" and recalled a day back a few years ago when the curse of Mac McDonald was in full swing and R&R called him live on the air prior to UVa's NIT Showdown with St. Johns. Mac didn't appreciate the 'ambush' and hung up on Rich and Larry. The curse remained in effect however, as the Cavs fell to the Redmen (The Sportsline refuses to be politically correct and aknowledge St. Johns teams being renamed the Red Storm). David Teel, columnist for the Newport News Daily Press dropped by live from the East Regional up in New Jersey. He talked a little bit about the previous nights action including OSU's tremendous comeback against Tennesse. Said he expected both games in the East to be good but thought the USC - Carolina game might be more interesting as an up and down type of game. Teel also called Double R a liar for saying that he was excited to talk with Teel when Jay Bilas was on deck. Jay Bilas of CBS and ESPN dropped by between games out west and talked about the impending showdown between Kansas and UCLA. Bilas talked about being a west coast guy and never figuring that UCLA could be a blue collar, hard nosed, defensive minded team ... but they are. Fantasy Friday's back with a bang ... so to speak ... with the new 'Daisy Duke', April Scott dropping by The Sportsline. The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning is just hitting video stores as a dvd and April talked about making the move from modelling to acting on the big screen. She said the role of 'Daisy Duke' helped move her up the Maxim Hottest 100 list ... and also talked about her desire not to do nude scenes this early in her career. The Sportsline NASCAR Fantasy League, presented by ABC 13 WSET. Rich got an explanation of the rules ... which are apparently not nearly clear enough and starters were announced for all of the teams. Dennis Carter of WSET checked in with his starters and talked about the disappointment he feels from his team ... led by Tony Stewart.
