Gregg Doyel, Noland Burchette & Larry's Pictures of a 3 Year Old Boy
Tuesday, 27 March 2007

Today on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 96 days and counting ... but today R&R spent some time talking about Billy Donovan and not only about the great job he has done at Florida, but also about where he might wind up next.  Kentucky?  The NBA?  Rich doesn't think he, or any coach can ever settle for being a great hoops coach at a football school.  How can he turn down the Kentucky job ... unless he opts for the NBA where no college coach has been successful making the transition since Chuck Daly did it way back in the day.

Before jumping into the interview with Gregg Doyel of CBS Sportsline, Larry tries to explain why it is OK for him to recycle jokes ... but he gets on Danny Boy for doing the same thing.  Not very convincing to say the least.  Gregg Doyel talked at length about the upcoming Final Four and thinks that Donovan, not only needs to look very hard at the Kentucky job if offered to him, but he believes  Donovan will take it, because its a much better job than Florida.  Larry points out to Gregg that he's a great interview because he talks like he writes (much like Tom Knott of the Washington Times) and it makes him a great guest.

The Sportsline Historian, Wesley Q. May checked in with another edition of "This Day in Sportsline History" with a very recent flashback of just a couple of weeks ago, when Larry announced that today was the day for the consult on his upcoming vasectomy.  He seemed way to excited about having this procedure done, incidently.

Noland Burchette, DE for the Hokies was up next on The Sportsline as he prepares for the upcoming NFL draft about a month away.  Noland has a great reputation for not only being a tough guy, but also for speaking whats on his mind.  He talked about calling the UVA players soft, about playing hurt in the Peach Bowl against Georgia, when he stayed in the game for the entire first half despite having a broken arm ... he touched on his thoughts that Sean Glennon was given too many chances at QB and the other guys not enough chances, and he spoke about the meat market that is the NFL Combine.

After previewing the rest of the week's lineup on The Sportsline, the topic of Larry's TV habits popped up once again on the show.  Larry tried to change the subject by revealing that he had pictures of Rich's son dressed inappropriately for a 3 year old boy ... and Danny quickly jumped in asking why Larry had pictures like that of other people's children.  Larry claimed they were innocent photos, but one of The Legend's childhood friends who happened to be listening to the show online called in, and wondered where his old buddy had gone wrong ... possessing these types of  pictures.  Strange stuff to say the very least.

Wrapped up the show by checking The Sportsline NASCAR Fantasy League Standings, presented by ABC 13, WSET.
