Today on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 121 days and counting. The Cavs knock off the Hokies and control their own destiny in the ACC as Carolina went down to Ga Tech. Rich talked about how interesting it was watch the UNC game knowing what the impact a loss to the Jackets would have for the Cavaliers. Rich and Larry also preview the upcoming Pete Gillen interview ... and Harry chimes in that he feels Pete would be a mistake for LU. Sportsline Historian Wes checks in with "This Day in Sportsline History" ... last year it was announced ... much to Rich's joy ... that Chad Pennington would be returning to the Jets. Pete Gillen drops by the show, now a color analyst with CSTV and Westwood One Radio. Talks some ACC and March Madness ... also denies any interest in the Liberty job which has become available. Campaigns for his former assistant Alexi Sherrard to get the job. Larry takes the opportunity to suck up to coach Gillen ... and gives him a world class rimmer. R&R play some clips from an interview Randy Dunton did with Dennis Carter of WSET after being terminated. Dunton said that many colleges would be doing cartwheels as a result of the coaching job he did at Liberty. Larry ... even in his weakened condition ... couldn't help but laugh at that one. Rich didn't think Dunton did a horrible job ... but felt that the program would be better off without someone of his character leading the show. SI.com hottie Jenn Sterger stands up R&R on Fantasy Friday. What a major disappointment. This leads to more Liberty talk. Hoo - Rah! NASCAR Fantasy League Standings, presented by ABC 13 follow, as Bluetooth explains how he has Stacy Compton's Turn One Center and Car Wash team in dead last.
Rich
and Larry wrap up the show previewing the weekends college hoops
action. Rich declares the Cavs undisputed ACC regular season
champs after they beat Wake ... and talks about the Banner hanging
ceremony scheduled for JPJ in C'ville. |
