Today on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 102 Days and Counting ... but the Sweet 16 contest begins today with a chance for the winner to score an overnight stay at The Homestead, courtesy of Virginia Sports Report. The first team off the board is USC taken by Gary ... up next is our first call from Harrisonburg, Robin listening on WHBG-AM takes the Tarheels. Jason Snelling, UVA RB is up next on the show. Kind of a lonely feeling as Jason was the only Cavalier at the NFL Combine and is really the only UVA player this year with a realistic shot at being drafted. Jason talked about his willingness to do whatever it takes to make a team and play in the NFL, including playing Fullback. More contestants for thw sweet 16 pool try to qualify. Gary didn't know that Bruce Pearl painted his chest at a women's game ... so he didn't get Tennessee. Travis, our second caller from Harrisonburg, didn't even bother trying to hide the fact that he was googling Bill Self to answer his trivia question to get Kansas. Travis even had the cohones to ask R&R how to spell "Self", while typing away on his computer. Kevin Harlan, play by play man for CBS joined Rich and Larry next on the show. He was up in lovely Buffalo for the opening 2 rounds, and had the pleasure of calling VCU's upset of Dook and their tough loss to Pitt. Harlan also said not to underestimate Butler ... although he does not feel they are athletic enough to handle Florida. Harlan also said that from broadcasting perspective ... the NCAA Tournament is the toughest event to broadcast because of CBS switching audiences all of the time ...nevertheless ... he loves it. Mr. Skin was up next on The Sportsline ... talking brackets of course ... only he was talking about his Bracket Ball tourney at mrskin.com. The 64 top nude scenes from movies in the 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's. Skin felt that the 90's is the toughest bracket ... with Alyssa Milano vs. Denise Richards in the 2nd round. His odds on favorite to win it is the classic Phoebe Cates scene from Fast Times at Ridgemont High. David sneaks into the sweet 16 pool before the show ends, nabbing Southern Illinois after telling R&R that they beat the Hokies 2 times this year. |
