Curtis Staples, Jerry Bonkowski & Clinton Portis Defends Michael Vick
Monday, 21 May 2007

Monday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 41 days and counting ... on what was a fun show.  "Big" Yankees Red Sox game on Monday Night Baseball ... and what better person to have on the show than Erin Andrews.  Bluetooth however could not deliver.  Larry has an inability to keep a secret or an off the record comment, revealing AGAIN an off the record from Double R's wedding.  Plus ... This Day in Sportsline History revealed that back in 1999 Rich proposed to Trisha on the air.

Sportsline Horse Racing expert from the Daily Racing Form, Dan Illman gets some credit for nailing the Preakness and R&R congratulate will for winning the tickets to the Coca-Cola 600.  Rich and Larry also played some unbelievable clips from Redskins RB Clinton Portis ... defending Michael Vick's dog fighting ring.  Some amazing comments made by Portis ... saying that people should mind their own business.  The Redskins had to apologize for Portis' comments.

Former UVA star and Chicago Bull Curtis Staples dropped by to talk some NBA Hoops.  Staples talked about the parity that currently exists in the NBA and said that the League screwed the Suns by suspending 2 players for a critical game 5 including Amare Stoudamire.  Staples also touched on some local players heading into the NBA draft.  He said that he thinks Sean Singletary will make it in the NBA whether he goes this year or next.  JR Reynolds is a tweener ... and needs to catch on with the right team ... as does Zabian Dowdell.

Jerry Bonkowski of Yahoo Sports checked in to talk some Nascar and the discussion focused on Dale Jr.  Bonkowski wonders how good a driver Earnhardt really is  ... and speculated that there may be no takers for him in his free agent search ... so he may wind up creating his own team.
