Ed Olczyk, Stacy Compton & the Trip Down Memory Lane Begins
Thursday, 31 May 2007

Thursday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry only 4 days and counting before double R and the Legend begin broadcasting from their new digs at ESPN Radio in Lynchburg, located on the dial at 93.3 FM or 1320 AM.  R&R open up the show by running down the new developments in the Michael Vick situation ... including more of the dregs of society coming forward to implicate Vick in different dogfights, plus a new haircut for Vick (since the Falcons have apparently just won the Superbowl!) and AirTran dumping him as a spokesman.  A few listeners also checked in to share some of their favorite memories of the show over the past decade on WLNI as The Sportsline gets ready to make the jump to bigger and better things.

Another caller checked in to rip Michael Vick and the Vicks in general.  Said he wouldn't mind seeing Michael and Marcus thrown into a pit to fight it out.  Larry's $$$ is on Marcus ... Double R took Michael feeling that Marcus has been pampered his whole life and hasn't learned how to fight for anything.  R&R also spent some time looking back and playing some promos that unbelievably didn't make the cut for Friday's show ... including the UVA fan who called Sportsline guests at home after their appearance on the show and the now infamous NJ promos.

Sportsline Historian Wes checked in with a history moment about how one year ago in 2006, his calendar was called on for the first time to check and see if Shady Sean had been give a nickname prior to Shady.  NBC Hockey Analyst Ed Olczyk also checked in to talk some pucks.  Game 3 is a must win game for Ottawa being down 2-0 in the Stanley Cup Finals ... but Olczyk also talked about how hockey is bouncing back from its lockout a few years ago ... and he thinks the sports future looks bright.

Another promo ... with the Legend accusing Double R of kissing George Welsh's butt preceded ESPN Racing Analyst Stacy Compton's appearance on the show.  R&R played a promo from many years ago when Stacy was in studio talking about forgetting sponsors names.  Stacy also talked about the impending birth of his second child ... and getting to run at one of his favorite tracks ... Dover ... this weekend.
