On today's show R&R recapped the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.
Larry was on the mark as UVa did in fact fall on a last second runner
by Purdue ... and the legend went out on a limb to predict that Tyler
Hansbrough, while a great player at UNC, will not turn out to be a very
good NBA player.
Today, the interview with Frank Beamer from
Wednesday's show was replayed, plus Kevin Kugler of Westwood One radio
dropped by to talk some college football. Kugler will be doing
the radio play by play for the Army Navy game on Saturday, and he
talked about the history and tradition of the matchup. Kugler
said it is going to be his first Army-Navy game and he couldn't be more
excited. He also talked about all of the teams in the mix for the
National Championship game, and said that he has seen all of the teams
in contention in person ... and in his opinion, right now USC is the
most deserving and will give Ohio State a run for their money.
Up
next was Dan Bonner of Raycom and CBS Sports to talk some college
hoops. When talking about the UVA-NC State game he will be
broadcasting on Sunday, he pointed out that while Herb Sendeck had made
5 straight NCAA Tournaments during his tenure with the Wolfpack ... he
was a combined 8-39 against UNC and Dook. Tough to keep a job on
Tobacco Road with a record like that. Bonner also said that 9
teams in the ACC are legitimate contenders for an NCAA berth including
both Tech and UVA. Carolina is right now the class of the ACC
according to Bonner.
