JETS, Staples Jersey Retirement and Tom Sorenson picks Keyshawn over TO
Monday, 13 November 2006

Today Rich opened the show by talking a little (not a lot) JETS as they knocked off the Patriots on Sunday up in New England.  R&R also got into college football as well, as chaos insued on Saturday as far as the BCS is concerned, and all of a sudden the national championship picture got a lot clearer.  The winner of Michigan-Ohio State this weekend will most likey play the winner of USC-Notre Dame next weekend.  Larry's got Ohio State and Notre Dame . . . while Rich is sticking with his pre-season pick of USC and the Buckeyes.

Curtis Staples then joined R&R.  The former 3 point gunner for the UVA Cavaliers had his jersey retired in a halftime ceremony on Sunday evening during the season opener for the Cavs against Arizona.  Rich thanked Curtis for keeping him there past halftime, when he was tempted to bolt for the bar as the Cavs were down big.  But a huge second half allowed the Cavs to pull off the upset and christen John Paul Jones arena with a big win. Staples echoed Rich's sentiments that, with a new coach, a new arena and a promising future for UVA hoops . . . its time for the fans to step up as well, and fill the building and make a lot of noise.

Bluetooth Brooks also got some credit . . . as he delivered the digits.  The announcement was made that Jerod had infact booked Erin Andrews for Tuesday's Show and will forego the embarrassment and humilation of singing at the SPC for not living up to his word.

Tom Sorenson, columnist for the Charlotte Observer joined R&R live from the stadium as the Panthers were set to take on the Bucs during MNF.  Tom told the guys that clearly mch more was expected from the Panthers this season, and that they had better go on a run now, as the final part of their season will be difficult.  Tom also weighed in heavily on Rich's side of an ongoing argument with Larry:  Keyshawn vs. TO.  Sorenson said that the Panthers absolutely love having Keyshawn, that he is an ideal teammate and undoubtedly a team player.
