Thursday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... lots to get to tonite including the ACC Championship game, the big game tonite in the NFL, plus some great guests ... but R&R start off the evening having some fun at the expense of Tony LaRussa, who was convicted of DUI and sentenced to probation. That wasn't the funny part ... the funny part was the actual audio recorded from the police officers car. LaRussa had passed out in the middle of the intersection and had tremendous difficulty getting through the end of the alphabet. Brought back memories of Drunk Dave. BC's second team all-ACC Tailback Andre Callendar dropped by the show next. Callendar and his teammates have the impression that they have already beaten VT, and now they just have to do it again. Thinks their offense will have more success this time with better weather conditions. Coach Jagodzinski gives the team a looser more laid back attitude than O'Brien did. Callendar would not make a prediction on the game, despite a great effort by Double R. Rich and Larry also had some more fun with a brawl between 8 year old hockey teams in Canada which required the police to break up. Don't worry though ... the mom responsible for the orange wedge slices will also be conducting an investigation into the incident. Gary Hess, Sports Director for the Virginia News Network dropped by to preview the ACC Championship game (he likes Tech) ... rundown the debacle which cost JMU their first round playoff game (bad coaching by Mickey Matthews) ... and even previewed the upcoming 2nd round game between Richmond and Wofford (take the Spiders). More on the Richmond Wofford game in what is now a Thursday Night staple on the show ... Covering the Commonweath, featuring Josh Wood (ie. Slappy). Rich and Larry also previewed the NFC Showdown tonite between the Cowboys and the Packers and talked about how 75 million folks won't be able to see it because its on the NFL Network. |
