Tuesday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 14 days and counting 'til The 2007 Song Parody Contest presented by ABC 13 and ESPN Radio ... Verizon has finally rectified their issues and The Sportsline is back on the Air. R&R open up the show with a little Pats Colts talk ... but the main topic of discussion is the Cardiac Cavs (boy RR really hates that term). Then Rich tries to run down the scenarios in the Coastal Division of the ACC ... but its not really quite as simple as he originally thought. Bottom line is though ... that the Cavs and Hokies should be playing for the right to go to the ACC Title game Thanksgiving Weekend, which makes the 2007 Song Parody Contest Huge. Wes also checks in with a Sportsline History Moment flashing back to last year when the Legend took a day off to do Rich's Christmas shopping for him. Allen Billyk, DL for the Cavs checked in and said that he too hates the term Cardiac Cavs and also gets frustrated by folks (stupid Hokies) who call UVa lucky for all of their close wins this year. He also said that he never saw Swank's FG miss as he was at the bottom of the pile, but could tell by the crowds reaction that he missed it. He talked about the amazing run UVa is on, and the determination and confidence that everyone has ... not sure that they could have done this same thing last year. Billyk also said that they will prepare for the Miami of old ... not the Miami that just got beat at home by NC State, because there is still a ton of talent down at THE U, and they can put it together at any time. Rich and Larry also reveal this week's winners of the Pigskin Pick'em and remind folks that there are only 2 weeks left to qualify for the finals and remain in the hunt for the Surf 'n' Turf getaway to Wild Dunes Resort. In hour 2 R&R play the 'what if' game, as callers wonder about the ranking of the Cavs should they run the table. Last week the speculation was that the Cavs lose out ... now its win out. What a difference "Wide Right" makes huh? The guys also spend some time on the Song Parody Contest and play 'The Boss' entry from 2006. Will he be back in 2007? The field is filling up quite well ... although Jeff Maxwell is still conspicuous by his abscence. Mike Sando of ESPN.com checks in to talk some NFL ... mainly Pats and Colts as they are clearly the two best teams in the league right now. Sando says that it is clearly not too soon to be talking about NE running the table ... and he also agrees that Belicheck is a cheater. Other that those two teams ... Adrian Petersen is the big story in his mind in the NFL, as he broke the single game rushing record last weekend against a team that is supposed to have a pretty good D ... San Diego. Sando also will be keeping on eye on the AFC West, as Denver is unbelievably in the lead there ... and wonders if the Broncos might win the West with a 6-10 mark. |
