David Teel, Jerry Ratcliffe & Ryan O'Halloran, Plus Pre-SPC Festivities
Monday, 19 November 2007
Monday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 1 DAY LEFT 'til The 2007 Song Parody Contest presented by ABC 13 and ESPN Radio ... and R&R spend the first half hour of the show talking with all 4 contestants in the Elite Division, as well as clarifying for everyone exactly how the SPC will be judged this year.  Rich, Larry and the gang are taking the judging much more seriously this year and hope to avoid the clusterfuck that 2006 brought.  Jamie is the only contestant in the Elite Division to announce his song choice ... however he too has a suprise in store for everyone.

Dennis Carter of WSET checks in as he will be live on hand at the 2007 SPC, sitting on stage with Rich and Larry, and DC will be one of the judges as well.  A big part of DC's criteria for judging this year will be the audience reaction and the live performance by each participant.

Rich and Larry next hear from some of the contestants in the Amateur Division, plus touch base with David Teel of the Newport News Daily Press and Jerry Ratcliffe of the Charlottesville Daily Progress to get their thoughts on the game.  Both Teel and Ratcliffe like the Hokies to win this game, and David Teel even agrees with RR in that this is a game that Al Groh, really, REALLY needs to win.  David and Jerry also laugh at the notion that either Rich or Larry will be on hand for the game on Saturday in Charlottesville.

Up next, a couple of more contestants from the Amateur Divison ... then Ryan O'Halloran of the Washington Times drops by to talk some Redskins.  Tough loss down in Dallas to the Cowboys over the weekend and he wondered how many times the skins D could make the exact same mistake.  I guess the answer is 4 ... the number of TD passes from Romo to TO.  Defense really misses Sean Taylor, who is likely out for another couple of weeks.  Rich and Larry wrap up the show talking with the final few contestants from the Amateur Division of the SPC.
